Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our authentic Italian ceramics.

Are your ceramics authentic and handmade in Italy?

Yes, every piece at Deruta of Italy is 100% authentic and handcrafted by master artisans in Deruta, Italy. Each item is hand-painted using traditional techniques passed down through generations.

Are the ceramics lead-free and food safe?

Absolutely. All of our dinnerware and kitchen accessories are lead-free and meet FDA standards for food safety, making them perfect for both display and daily use.

How do you ensure fragile items are shipped safely?

We have decades of experience shipping delicate majolica. Each piece is meticulously wrapped in high-grade protective materials and double-boxed to ensure it arrives at your doorstep in perfect condition.

What is your return policy for handcrafted items?

We want you to be delighted with your purchase. If you are not satisfied, you may return unused items in their original packaging within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange.

Can I put my Deruta ceramics in the dishwasher or microwave?

While our ceramics are durable, we recommend hand-washing to preserve the vibrancy of the hand-painted glazes. We do not recommend microwave use as the clay body can heat unevenly.

Do you offer international shipping?

Yes, we ship our authentic Italian pottery worldwide. Shipping costs and delivery times vary by destination and are calculated at checkout.
